The Ovcare National Cancer Centre invites you to join us and experience the excitement of "la nuit de l'opéra au cirque" at our annual fundraising dinner, Ovation... celebrating life 2010 for the benefit of ovarian cancer research and the development of better detection tests for this disease. 

Hosted by Ms Rebecca Maddern (Channel 7) and in the presence of the Governor of Victoria, Professor David de Kretser, AC, "La nuit de l'opéra au cirque" will encompass a night of fine wine, exquisite dining and the theatre of opera and circus combining to create a magical evening full of promise and hope - a breathtaking night sure to touch the hearts of all, for a cause that affects many Australian women and their families.

This controversial comedian is fearless in his delivery and famous for his insightful and frank views on just about any topic. In 2006 he headlined the first ever Irish gala at the Just for Laughs Montreal Comedy Festival and he has joined their National Tours in 2007 and 2009 in Canada.

His observations about life are offbeat and thoughtful but most importantly, he's a tremendous storyteller. He will challenge, he will engage and he will definitely entertain.

Renowned impersonator Mark Andrew, an entertainer with over 15 years experience and endless versatile talent, has mastered the looks and sounds of Dean Martin, Buddy Holly, John Lennon, Tom Jones, Jim Morrison, Austin Powers and Elvis Presley. Legends Showcase, after rave revues and international tours, is back by popular demand.

The first part of the show will take the audience back to those early concert show years and Mark will perform with very quick costume changes as Dean Martin, Buddy Holly, John Lennon, Tom Jones, Jim Morrison and Austin Powers. The second half will feature Mark as Elvis Presley in Concert. The show is backed by a 9 piece band and 4 show girls.

The Carpenters from Kempsey have wowed audiences across Australia, from Toowoomba to Karratha, from Lyric Theatre Star City Sydney, to Palms at Crown in Melbourne, to sell-outs at the Dunstan Playhouse, Adelaide Cabaret Festival. The Carpenters from Kempsey pay tribute to the music of Karen & Richard Carpenter with a comic twist. Darren & Sharon Carpenter are twins born 6 months apart from Kempsey NSW. Their lives were transformed they day they discovered those "Other Carpenters". Not only did they share a family name but they looked similar as well.

Darren & Sharon uncannily recreate the sound of The Carpenters singing all those songs the other Carpenters made famous -Yesterday Once More, Ticket to Ride, Rainy Days and Mondays, Calling Occupants, Jambalaya, Mr Postman, Top Of The World, Superstar, Goodbye To Love, Only Yesterday, There's a Kind Of Hush, Love is Surrender, We've Only Just Begun and many more.

After sell out seasons in 2001 and 2005, Rhythm Of The Dance, the spectacular celebration of Irish dance and music returns to the Palms from May 6 - 16 2010.  This two-hour dance and music extravaganza contains a wealth of talent derived from all areas of Irish life.

The show is an inspiring epic, reliving the journey of the Irish Celts throughout history.  Using modern arts of dance and music this richly costumed show marries the contemporary and the ancient.  Combining traditional dance and music with the most up to date stage technology, the show is a thousand year old story executed with all the advantages of a modern day stage show.

Since its debut in 1999, Rhythm of the Dance has played to over 3 million fans in 33 countries worldwide and has heralded a new era of Irish entertainment.
